This holiday season Walmart credit card holders will have their pick of money-saving incentives as they shop for loved ones, celebrations and everyday essentials.

Through Dec. 31, 2017, you can save $35 when you open a Walmart credit card account online and spend at least $35 on your first purchase that same day. That’s enough for an extra holiday gift.

You can use your Walmart credit card account immediately after getting approved. There’s no need to wait for the actual card to arrive in the mail. Walmart will credit the $35 to your account within the next couple of billing periods. You can’t combine this offer with other promotions, and you won’t earn cash-back rewards on that purchase.

You can also take advantage of a promotional cash-back rate of 3% on Walmart Pay purchases made with your Walmart credit card through Dec. 31, 2017. That’s an extra 2% for shopping in-store. And thanks to yet another promotion, you could earn even more than that. This Thanksgiving and Black Friday, you can get double cash back on Walmart credit card purchases via and Walmart Pay purchases on those days. That’s 6% back either way you pay.

Without promotions, the Walmart credit card earns an ongoing rate of 3% cash back on purchases, 2% cash back at Murphy USA and Walmart gas stations, and 1% cash back in Walmart stores and anywhere else your card is accepted.

If you’re a Walmart fan looking for another credit card alternative, the Chase Freedom® is worth a look. It offers 5% cash back in bonus categories that change every quarter, on up to $1,500 spent quarterly. The bonus categories for the final quarter of 2017 are Walmart and department stores.
