National Student Loan Solutions Inc. did not contest a lawsuit brought by Washington state’s attorney general, who accused it of unfair and deceptive actions in student-loan debt adjustment.
Under a King County Superior Court ruling in that case, the California company must pay more than $9,000, according to a 2016 news release issued by the attorney general’s office. The office “will seek to enforce that judgment against the company, to obtain further restitution for Washington consumers, as well as costs, fees and penalties,” the release said.
Enforcement actions: The company was directed to refund $1,050 to a Washington consumer, the attorney general said in a 2017 release.
Liens filed: Two California state tax liens were filed against the company in 2014 totaling nearly $16,000. They were released in 2015.
