Enforcement actions: Washington’s attorney general acted against American Student Loan Consolidators LLC in 2016, accusing the company of making deceptive statements about consumers’ options, failing to advise them of their rights when signing contracts and charging illegal fees of $166 to $699 for debt adjustment, far above the state limit of $25.
