The First Progress Platinum Elite Mastercard® Secured Credit Card is one of three secured credit cards that First Progress offers. It could be a decent, if expensive, option for consumers looking to build their credit.
The card requires an initial deposit, which becomes your credit limit. But unlike some other secured cards, you'll also owe an annual fee, you won't earn rewards and there's no clear upgrade path to a "normal" unsecured product from First Progress.
Still, you can apply without dinging your credit scores, and your activity will be reported to the three major credit bureaus. Plus, it comes with comparatively low interest rates for a card in its class, ideal if you carry a balance.
