When in the market for a new blender, there is quite a bit to consider and it certainly helps to do your homework. To help you on your way, we compare two models, the Ninja NJ600 and the Cuisinart SBC-1000, which both are exceptional blenders with quite a few differences.
It Can Cook Too
Perhaps the major difference between the Ninja NJ600 and the Cuisinart SBC-1000 is that one can cook and the other can’t. That’s right, the Cuisinart SBC-1000 can not only blend and chop, but it can sauté, simmer and boil — cooking and keeping your soups warm until you are ready to serve them. So, if you want to combine your stove top with your blender, you just may want to opt for a Cuisinart over the Ninja NJ600, which does not come equipped with a heating element.
The Power of a Horse
While the Cuisinart can cook for you, it doesn’t have the same ice-crushing power as the Ninja NJ600, which features 1100 watts, able to smash ice at the press of a button. The Cusinart, by comparison, features 900 watts, which can get the job done, but not with the same power. If you plan on blending a lot of ice this summer, you will surely want to opt for the Ninja.
It’s All About Size
If you don’t plan on making a lot of servings, you will want to consider the Cusinart SBC-1000, which features a thermal, 48-ounce glass, blending pitcher as opposed to the Ninja NJ600, which comes equipped with a 72-ounce pitcher that is BPA free.
Make it Sparkle
You just finished blending up fresh tomato sauce and now it’s time to make your blender clean and shiny again, but if you plan on putting your new Cuisinart in the dishwasher, think again — the Cusinart is not dishwasher safe. By comparison, however, you can put your Ninja NJ600 in the dishwasher, provided you place your lid, blade and pitcher on the top rack. If you are a person who loves to use their dishwasher to make the cleaning up process easier, you will want to buy a Ninja NJ600.
Purchase price could be a deal breaker on any product you buy, including a new blender. According to Consumer Reports.org, the Ninja NJ600 is currently retailing for between $88.96 and $120, and the Cuisinart for between $149.00 and $219. Of course, you can always find a deal or wait for a big sale to buy your blender, but you will likely still find, at least, a $100 difference in price between the Ninja and the Cuisinart. So, if you are looking to not break the bank and don’t mind a blender that can’t heat up food , you may want to think about buying the Ninja NJ600.
