When it comes to deciding between getting a credit card that’s tied to a specific carrier and going with a more general airline credit card, consider the perks you get with the specific carrier. Some will waive baggage fees or let you check in early, for example, and give you added bonuses for being a loyal customer. On the other hand, a more general travel card will give you a bonus on all your travel spending, possibly earning you more rewards, but you may sacrifice a bit in terms of fringe benefits.
