Many or all of the products featured here are from our partners who compensate us. This influences which products we write about and where and how the product appears on a page. However, this does not influence our evaluations. Our opinions are our own. Here is a list of our partners and here's how we make money.

Sure, thousands of credit cards offer cash back or travel rewards, but a smaller subset of cards are designed to speak to your passions. They may not be as rewarding as some of the more conventional credit cards available, but what you'll lack in points, you’ll make up for in heart.

In some cases, these cards offer extra rewards for highly specific purchases. Others provide perks that may have absolutely nothing to do with the picture on the card. But either way, they’re sure to make a statement.

For the cartoon cat lover: the Garfield Visa® with Rewards card

Celebrate Garfield’s love for lasagna, and utter disdain for everything else, whenever you take out your wallet. (Careful not to leave said wallet unattended around an actual cat, though. They’ll knock it to the floor and won’t be the least bit sorry.)

The Garfield Visa® with Rewards, issued by Commerce Bank, earns rewards unrelated to cat care but helpful to humans:

  • 3% cash back at coffee shops, fast-food restaurants and on ridesharing services.

  • 2% cash back at gas stations and restaurants.

  • 1% on everything else.

Frankly, not offering double cash back on Mondays seems like a missed opportunity, but you can redeem your rewards for a statement credit, travel, merchandise and more. The annual fee is $0, and the card offers a low APR for the first 6 months.

For the outdoors enthusiast: the Ducks Unlimited Rewards Visa® Card

A portion of every purchase you make with the Ducks Unlimited Rewards Visa® Card is donated to Ducks Unlimited’s efforts to preserve wildlife habitat and hunting grounds by replanting forests and restoring grasslands and watersheds.

Otherwise, the $0-annual-fee card, which is issued by the First National Bank of Omaha, earns a flat 1.5% cash back. Redeem rewards for cash back (as a statement credit, deposit into a bank account or mailed check), travel, gift cards, merchandise and more.

Previously, you could earn 5% cash back at gas stations and sporting goods stores, but the card was revamped in the spring of 2020 to eliminate this benefit. Wildlife 1, gas-guzzling SUVs 0.

For the home decorator: the Christmas Tree Shops® andThat!® Mastercard® Credit Card

Your fireplace mantle isn’t just tastefully styled — it’s styled by season, with a rotating collection of charming holiday accents. Your kitchen table has a sign over it that says, “Gather.” If you live (and laugh, and love) near a Christmas Tree Shops® andThat!® store, this $0-annual-fee credit card, issued by Comenity Capital Bank, will earn you:

  • 5% back for every $1 spent at Christmas Tree Shops® andThat!® and its family of brands.

  • 2% back for every $1 spent at gas stations and grocery stores.

  • 1% back for every $1 spent anywhere else.

You can also opt to finance a larger purchase through a deferred interest offer, though you won’t earn rewards when you use this feature. Note that with offers like these, if you don’t pay the balance in full by the end of the promotional period, interest will be charged from the purchase date, meaning you’ll owe interest on the full purchase amount and not just the remaining balance.

  • 0% interest for 6 months when you spend $250 to $499.99 at Christmas Tree Shops® andThat!® and its family of brands.

  • 0% interest for 12 months when you spend $500 or more at Christmas Tree Shops® andThat!® and its family of brands.

For the figurine collector: the Precious Moments Visa Signature® Rewards Credit Card

A highly specific subset of home decorators are those who build a collection of breakable trinkets over several decades, hiding them behind glass to protect them from dust and small children.

For such collectors, there’s the Precious Moments Visa Signature® Rewards Credit Card — yes, as in the maker of the twee collection of figurines depicting childlike people doing decidedly adult things, like getting married, announcing pregnancies and graduating from school.

It’s a cash-back card with a sign-up bonus of sorts that covers less than 25% of the typical cost of a Precious Moments figurine. Use the card within 90 days of opening the account and you’ll receive a $10 Precious Moments online gift code. Otherwise, earn:

  • 3% cash back at coffee shops, fast-food restaurants and on ridesharing services.

  • 2% cash back at gas stations and restaurants.

  • 1% cash back on everything else.

These are actually the same rewards rates you get with the Garfield Visa® with Rewards card, as both cards are issued by Commerce Bank. You can also redeem rewards for a statement credit, travel, merchandise and more.

For the Trekkie: the Star Trek Credit Card

Issued most appropriately by NASA Federal Credit Union, the Star Trek Credit Card provides fans with four card design options and extra rewards on startrek.com purchases. It also has a sign-up bonus, but it charges a $39 annual fee. So you’ll prosper, but the card may not live long before you think about whether or not the cost is worth it.

You’ll earn:

  • 3 points per $1 spent on startrek.com.

  • 2 points per $1 at gas stations.

  • 1 point per $1 on everything else.

Redeem points for Star Trek merchandise, travel, gift cards and more. If you opt for cash back, your points will be worth 1.5 cents each. You must join NASA Federal Credit Union to be eligible for this card. If you don’t work for NASA, you can do this by becoming an affiliated member of the National Space Society.
