Whether you’re getting married, having a baby or just celebrating, registering for gifts is now a common practice. And Target has a nice selection of inexpensive basics, designer collaborations and everything in between. The Target wedding registry website, app and in-store experience are all integrated, so guests can shop how they like. Let’s take a closer look.

Starting a registry is as simple as signing into your existing Target account or creating a new one: You’ll need only an email address and your name. From there, you can create a registry for any event, including a wedding, baby shower, college move-in or housewarming party. There’s also a custom option. Then start adding items.
You can make your registry public — searchable in store and on Target’s website — or hide it so that only people with a direct link have access.
Target includes a handy checklist of commonly registered items to make sure you don’t forget anything. It’s accessible from the registry app on your phone, in store and on the website.
You can track gifts: who bought it for you, when and whether or not you’ve sent them a thank you note.
If you’ve got your eye on a big ticket item, don’t worry. Target’s registry allows multiple people to put money toward one item, called “group gifting.”
Once you sign up for a registry, you’ll also qualify for discounts from Target’s partners in the wedding space. As of this writing, you can get deals on handwritten thank you cards, tuxedo rentals and flowers. Follow the link on Target’s website to partner sites, where you can sign up for the deals.
15% off post-wedding
If you didn’t receive a registered item as a gift, but you still want it, you can buy it — or any other item in your registry — for 15% off after the wedding. After your event, Target will email you a 15% off coupon redeemable online or in store.
Target registry app
Target’s Registry app syncs up with your registry, so you’ll have all the details at your fingertips. It’s got a built-in scanner that lets you add items in store as well.
1-year return policy
You can return most new, unopened items to a Target store for up to a year after your event date.
