If your business travel includes frequent hotel stays, the Starwood Preferred Guest® Credit Card from American Express is the card for you. You can earn 2 Starpoints per dollar spent on eligible purchases with participating hotels and resorts and 1 Starpoint per dollar on all other purchases. Plus, the card has a welcome bonus: Earn 75,000 bonus points after you use your new Card to make $3,000 in purchases within the first 3 months of Card Membership. Terms Apply.

What makes the Starwood Preferred Guest® Credit Card from American Express compelling is its high point value. Based on NerdWallet's calculations, Starpoints are worth 2.3 cents each when redeemed for hotel stays. Some other travel credit cards value their points at only 1 cent apiece. The Starwood Preferred Guest® Credit Card from American Express also adds flexibility by letting you transfer points to your choice of more than 30 airline partners.

The Starwood Preferred Guest® Credit Card from American Express doesn't have foreign transaction fees, but because American Express isn't always widely accepted abroad, it isn't ideal for international travel. The annual fee is $0 for the first year, then $95.
