Best Cell Phone Deals in October

Cell phone companies are shaking off the winter blues and marching into spring with some strong promotions. Check out our favorites below.

Half off unlimited

Sprint

Sprint slashed prices on its unlimited plan. Right now, new customers can get one line for $50 or up to five lines for $90. The promotion includes HD streaming and 10 gigabytes of high-speed hot spot data, a change from Sprint’s standard unlimited plan.

There are a few caveats, though. The promotional pricing is only good until March 31, 2018. After that, you’ll pay regular price, which is $60 for one line, $40 for the second line and $30 for each additional line. Prices assume an automatic payment discount. If you don’t opt to autopay, add $5 per line to your monthly costs.

The HD and hot spot upgrades also fall off on March 31, 2018, leaving you with standard definition streaming and 5GB of high-speed hot spot data.

Free Galaxies

T-Mobile

New and existing customers can get two Samsung Galaxy S7 smartphones (one per line) for free with a mail-in rebate. You’ll need to trade in your old phones, and existing customers need to activate at least one new line of service. New customers need to keep their old phone numbers, too.

Now is a good time to make the move to T-Mobile, too. The self-proclaimed un-carrier is offering two lines of unlimited high-speed data for $100 with an autopay discount. That’s $20 off the regular price of T-Mobile One, which now includes HD streaming and 10GB of mobile hot spot access at 4G LTE speeds. Add $5 per month per line if you prefer to skip automatic payments. Most taxes and fees are included in the monthly price either way.

New iPhones at used iPhone prices

Boost Mobile

Boost Mobile is knocking $200 off the price of multiple iPhone models, including the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, and $220 off the SE. That means you can get a brand new iPhone SE 16GB for just $179.99 — almost $100 less than the cheapest used model on Gazelle, a used electronics site.

An added bonus: Boost Mobile is also offering two lines with 10GB each for just $70 per month, $65 if you opt for automatic payments. Additional lines, up to five total, are just $25 per month. This offer ends on April 10.

These promotions are available for new and existing customers.
