Rewards only redeemable for hotel stays
The rewards structure of the Orbitz Rewards® Visa® Card is quite generous, but snagging the card's highest rates isn't all that simple. It depends on what you're booking and how you're booking it.
Booking through the Orbitz mobile app and paying with the Orbitz Rewards® Visa® Card will yield the highest reward rate of 10% back (in "Orbucks") on hotels and 6% back on airfare. The rewards rate for hotels booked on a desktop computer with the card falls to 8% (you'll still get 6% for airfare booked this way). You'll earn 2% back in rewards for any spending that doesn't fall into a bonus category. That's impressive, especially for an annual fee of $0.
But despite a high rewards rate and point valuation, redemption is restrictive. Orbucks are worth $1 each, but can be used only toward qualifying hotel stays. If you were hoping to save up enough for a discounted flight or a cruise, this card won't be the ticket.
